INTRODUCTION TO ROTA VIRUS

Rotavirus is the most common cause of severe gastroenteritis in young children. Gastroenteritis means the inflammation of the stomach and intestines, inflammation coming from the word, “itis”. Mostly targets below 5 years old or younger. It also causes significant causes of infant mortality in developing nations. Infant mortality is where an infant or a baby dies before his or her first birthday.
